6th Annual Commute Smart B2B Challenge Kicks of May 1st
May 1 2020
CommuteSMART Seacoast launched its sixth annual Commute Smart B2B Challenge. This free event runs from May 1-31 to encourage commuters to use sustainable options such as working from home, biking, walking, public transit or carpooling. “There’s a dramatic spike in teleworking this year”, said Rugg. “Hopefully more people will be able to continue working from home and keeping their car off the road, even a day or two a week, after we get through this extremely difficult time,” added Rugg.
The commuter challenge gives participants the chance to earn prizes as they increase or try a sustainable commuting mode. During the Challenge, Seacoast area employer teams compete against one another for four awards: most sustainable trips, most social media buzz, most team spirit, and most improved team. The objective is to encourage and reward commuters to use sustainable modes of transportation in the hopes of creating long-term behavior change.
CommuteSMART welcomes three new companies so far this year: Colby’s, Liberty Mutual (Dover campus), and McFarland Johnson. Some of the returning teams include B2W Software, City of Portsmouth, GPI, Global Aquaculture, Heinemann Publishing, HubSpot, IAPP, LTC Partners, Lonza, NH Dept. Environmental Services, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and the Seacoast Science Center.
It’s not too late to form a team. There is no charge to participate and any size employer is welcome. Register at www.commuteSMARTseacoast.org/challenge/2020 or contact arugg@commuteSMARTseacoast.org
